Join us for Team Night at Fresh Bikes
Fresh Bikes in Arlington is hosting a Team Night Thursday, February 23 at 6 p.m.

Keep an eye out for a survey to determine what kind of gear the team would like to see from the shop.

The address for the shop is 3924 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203 and the closest metro is Ballston and Virginia Square (Orange / Silver lines) Upcoming Events

Wednesdays --
Coffee at The Coffee Bar (TCB) 7:45 - 8:45 a.m.
Feb 16:  Monthly Happy Hour (location TBD)
Feb 19: Fun run around town.  This will be a dual event with Nate (training) and will be followed by a get-together after for brunch.  Details to follow.
Feb 23: Team Night at Freshbikes. More to follow on this, but it should be similar to last year's meeting, with staff present to chat with, a few beverages to enjoy, and perhaps a few team deals.
March 11: Monthly potluck/post RnR get-together. Sean and Erin Fish have graciously offered to open their home and host a post-race potluck. They are only a few blocks from the finish line, so this should work out well for many of us.  Stay tuned!!
March 16: Monthly Happy Hour at Solly's.

Kinetic House Organizers - we are looking for two this year; this kills two birds with one stone, covering both of your volunteer requirements for the year.

Times will be finalized and events will start as the leads are identified and the seasons change. We are also looking to have a Friday East Potomac Swim once the pool opens.

Athletic Advice
As many of us are ramping up our training to achieve our racing goals, finding a coach to help you might be a bit of a daunting task. The DC area and our own team have a broad variety of coaches with dazzling accomplishments and proven track records for all levels of athletes.

If you're looking for a coach, the well researched, and always thoughtful DC Rainmaker, has an account of searching for a coach himself. While it's written in 2009, much of his advice still rings true.

Social Media Corner
Taken during the 2016 Ironman Maryland event, under less than ideal conditions, this photo captures the essence of Best Team Photo. @Stevielynlyn (Instagram) manages a great big smile, while Chris Vaughn cheers her on! Kudos to competitors and supporters alike!

Submit your best and worst photos for inclusion on the website, FB page, and newsletter!

TEAM WEBSITE
Our team website is now up to date, and ready for your visiting pleasure.

Here's just a bit about what you'll find and how to log into the site:

The email with which you registered for the club is your log on. When you're signing on for the first time, you'll need to set your password. It isn't difficult and once set, you can opt to have the site remember you.

Things you'll find on the site include, up to date events, training, volunteer opportunities, current team roster, the race calendar and discount codes, and a listing of our team sponsors.

Also, check out our Instagram account (@Districtmultisport), Facebook Page and Facebook Group. The difference is that the group is "invite only" and restricted to team information. The page is our "community face" and where we can interact with other teams, engage potential recruits or make happy hour plans with other teams.

We'll be periodically highlighting a great share or photo in the newsletter from Facebook and Instagram so have at it, post your best or worst photos!
