How did you first get interested in multisport?
I turned 30 and looked at myself in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. I was living a very unhealthy lifestyle and decided to do something about it. One of my colleagues at work had done a couple Olympic triathlons and I had heard her talking about them. So I decided to do an olympic triathlon as a way to force myself to get in shape. I was immediately hooked.
Which sport do you enjoy the most?
This is a hard one. I like the simplicity of running, the tranquility of swimming, and the scenery while riding. Cycling wins by a little. But there is a reason why I am a triathlete and not a runner, a swimmer, or a cyclist.
Any embarrassing stories you'd like to share?
Have you met me? ha ha. This has to be the Miami half marathon in 2014. I trusted a fart at mike 3. I shouldn't have. Poopy shorts for 10 miles.
What is your most triumphant moment during a multisport event?
There are two: finishing my first triathlon and finishing my first ironman. The former because I was a lazy couch potato until I turned 30, the latter because of all the adversities during that race.
Tell us something that most people don't know about you.
I've been dead. I drowned in a pool when I was about 3 and they had to do CPR to bring me back.
